Tom Liddy, the young, handsome, erudite son of G. Gordon Liddy, won an important election this morning which I attended as a Precinct Committeeman. He is now the Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee. He was elected by the Precinct Committeemen of Maricopa County as a write-in candidate.
His most recent qualifications for this assignment were: He was First Vice-Chair for District 20 in 2002; he was a volunteer for JD Hayworth for Congress in 2002; he was a Precinct Comitteeman for District 6, 2000-2002; and he was a congressional candidate in 2000.
Also included in his resume:
Counsel, New Mexico Recount, November-December 2000.
Counsel, Nevada Recount, November-December 1998.
Counsel, Pennsylvania Recount, November-December 1996.
Counsel, Committee of Credentials, Republican National Convention, San Diego, 1996.
Counsel, Western Region RNC, 1996-1998.
Republican National Committee, Deputy Counsel, 1995-1998.
He was also a volunteer on numerous campaigns.

Thanks.
And yes, it's time for an alternative to the ACLU.

Oh God, I still think you guys should replace McCain.
All the Democrats in NY wanted the guy to run for Prez.
First hand info.

More importantly, Phoenix, Arizona.
This is good news for all of us in the Greater Glendale Area (Phoenix and Scottsdale are suburbs of Glendale).

You're so welcome, Madfly.
This is my very first political thread. I'm a little nervous here.

Well don't be nervous. A little good news is a welcome thing, especially after watching Butch take her oath this week. gag

Thanks for the ping. Liddy will do a great job.
Tom Liddy has a show on KFYI (550AM) from 6-8PM on Sunday nights (right before Matt Drudge). Wonder if he'll still be able to do it...

Great news (from your neighbor!!!!!) Your state is looking more and more inviting....(NOT Phoenix...far too hot). Thanks for the thread.

I'm just happy to see him on the job at IJ. Randy, the brake-shop owner Tom's litigating for (see Miss Slippy's link in #6), is a good acquaintance of my family. I've sent countless people to his place of business.

Is there an AZ ping list? If there is, can you add me to it? Thanks!

I have a very short ping list, as you can see, but I'll put you on it! Thanks for asking.
With the exception of the Governorship, AZ is slowly but surely going back to its roots of conservatism. The 2002 races will be a joy to track. I'm absolutely loving it. It was so exciting yesterday.
For example, one of our Precinct Committeemen became a State Representative. Cyber and I were the first people to sign his petition to be on the ballot way back in September. He has offered to give us a guided tour of the Capitol Building in Phoenix. We're waiting until he settles in, though. He hasn't even gotten a password for his computer yet. It's just a tad bit disorganized.
