You need a whole lotta cheese to go with this whine.

The D.C. Chapter's FReep at Olsson's that is credited with tipping the balance was reported via videostream and still photos on the front page of the website of The Washington Post seven straight days before Gore announced his decision not to run again for President, plus two days after.

Evidently, that FReep had an impact far beyond the patrons at Olsson's that day.

EAGLES UP !!!

But Gore’s decision did not sit well with some Democrats who remain outraged over Bush’s hardball strategies in Florida, including the disenfranchisement of thousands of African-American voters.

And the race baiting continues... no mention of the disenfranchisement of the military votes, or the disenfranchisement of the counties NOT cherry picked for recounts... oh I could go on and on...

Much credit goes to the outstanding activism conducted by the patriots holding the front lines- the merry band of men and women from the DC Chapter of Free Republic.

Be forewarned: Surely the King will place a bounty on the heads of each of the minutemen and respectful ladies summoned to battle.

Outstanding and exemplary conduct my friend ! Eagles Up !

Did we leave out one little itsy bitsy detail in this story? Like taking millions of dollars from the communist Chinese in 1996! For that Gore should not have even been allowed to run in 2000.

It can be easily said that Clinton and Gore took Dick Morris's advice even farther than Dick even imagined. If Clinton and Gore had not raised millions from the Chinese there is no way such a despicable duo could have ever won in 96. Plus if Clinton Gore had not totally controlled the Justice Department they both could and should be in jail!

It wouldn't have happened without you, Jim.

Those FReepers in Florida did a heckuva job, too.

Sheesh!!

...some center-left pundits (???!) such as...Dionne noted that when Daschle made a legitimate complaint that “shrill” attacks from Limbaugh had contributed to physical threats against Democrats and their families, mainstream media commentators rallied to Limbaugh’s defense.

Who, brokaw/rather/jennings? I must have missed those shows. When will they separate the editorials from the mainstream media?

In one rant, Washington Post columnist Michael Kelly wrote that Gore's critique of Bush's Iraq policy " was dishonest, cheap, low. It was hollow. ..." [SNIP] [Washington Post, Sept. 25, 2002] [For more details on the conservative denunciations of Gore, see xonsortiumnews.com’s "Politics of Preemption."]

Mainstream columnists also joined the assault,

I find this hilarious. Since when is the WashPost a conservative, non-mainstream outlet?

The writer of this piece is flat out delusional.

What can this 'counter-media' possibly do that the mainstream hasn't been doing for 30+ years?

Who can the 'counter-media' recruit that is not currently in the mainstream?

I'd say the answers are nothing and nobody.

This piece is all pure fantasy. Gore's problem was simply that he was, and is, a goof.
