Stringent safety checks have been ordered on the Tube amid heightened fears of a gas or biological terrorist attack, it was claimed today.
Ministers are said to have instructed regular air monitoring tests and government scientists are also reported to have conducted experiments with a harmless gas to establish how far and how quickly it would travel through the Tube's tunnels and stations...
... Improved security has also been ordered for reservoirs across the UK to prevent a terrorists contaminating drinking water supplies. Scottish Water said it had been ordered to build new fences around a reservoir near Glasgow.
