The Guardian January 27, 1999

Joan Blades, founder of the Internet petition campaign, "Censure & Moveon", told the People's Weekly World, newspaper of the Communist Party of the USA, that minutes after the House approved two articles of impeachment, Censure & Moveon launched a "We Will Remember" on-line pledge drive that so far has collected $10 million in pledges.

I wonder if these people are related to Joan Blades?

Panamanian Roberto Blades, brother of multi-talented Latin artist Rubén Blades, became seriously involved in music after dropping his plan of joining the U.S. Air Force. In 1981, Miami-based musicians joined him to assemble a tropical orchestra called Inmensidad, topping the charts with "Lágrimas" and "Ya No Regreso Contigo" soon after. After teaming up with Latin music entrepreneur Emilio Estefan Jr., songwriter and producer Roberto Blades achieved his first Grammy awards for his work alongside Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony, and the first one on his own for Encore, a collection of his greatest hits. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide

I watched President Bush's short talk today at the Baptist Church. I was impressed not only his words and enthusiasm, but also by his delivery. It was crisp and clear. I was excited to hear a speech that didn't seem corruptible by the anti-Bush dominant media.

This afternoon, at 6:00 or 6:30 the ABC news on WMAL radio (Washington DC) played a clip from this speech. It seemed that they played it at a speed just slower than it actually was. President Bush sounded hesitant and several syllables sounded mushy, something that I did not hear in the live presentation on C-Span. Was this my imagination or do they do this nefarious trick?

Would bet the arranged funding for these various group to organize and demonstrate!

Subtle. They might have altered it.

'Tis easy to be excessively paranoid among liberals though.

It's even easier not to be paranoid enough.

I heard today on Jason Lewis show in Minnesota that Brett Bozell of MRC had a heart attack. Any news?

I don't think it was Brett Bozell. Reed Irvine of A.I.M. had a major heart attack last week and it was in their newsletter yesterday.

I heard from someone at MRC that replaced Brett on Jason's show and from Jason himself.

Good articles, as usual. Kudos, yet again, to CCRM!
Ya'll sure do like things "grilled". Any chili cookoff plans?

Thanks, Philman!

Funny you should mention chili cookoffs! We have yet to choose a way of celebrating Valentine's Day.
