The town will almost certainly be bankrupted by this. As a matter of fact they have already been talking about a 'pre-emptive' bankruptcy because of this case. The prevailing opinion is that there is no way they can possibly win, and if settlement offers aren't accepted, they may have no choice.

Now, a poster above stated how the cops 'can't believe all these crazies coming out against them'. This shows how far out there these guys are, and how self-deluded they can become to stand behind one of their own. Nothing but trouble headed for Cookeville, Tn.

What in the world is a "pre-emptive bankruptcy"?

"I think we're going to do something stupid that will cost us millions of dollars, so could we just go ahead and declare bankruptcy now to beat the rush?"
