As I walked back to the Metro, the trash was all over the streets. They are the biggest bunch of pigs and hypocrites that walk the face of the planet. I got on the Metro with my Patriots Rally button on my coat. They young minds of mush would notice it a stare. It was wall to wall libs as the Metro rolled into VA. I was listening to their conversations and their excitement of a big day. All as I could do was sit there and wonder if they will ever wake up.

And remember what the head of the Iraqi-American Council told us at our rally: Saddam Hussein is a big environmental criminal. He completely destroyed huge tracks of Arab marshland that had remained pristine for the last 3,000 years. It's completely weird to see the "greenies" out here: it can only be explained as dissent-for-dissent's sake and hate-America-first.

That said, I would like to add that on my own in the later afternoon, I did (a la Mudboy) interact with some of the earnest college kid types that looked nice and non-dangerous. Some of them really have researched the issue well and feel that the chances of Saddam hurting his people and using chemical weapons increases if we go to war. I point out that war is not the first choice for us and that the US is now trying cajoling and that their protest is undercutting the cajoling. Their response is that they believe that in fact war is the first choice and the White House is just trying to shape up public opinion toward a pre-determined result.

Utlimately, even among the reasonable ones, it comes down to "I don't trust the Republican president." Which is I guess a legitimate point of view. Not mine. But the percentage of kids that had thought any of this through to any extent was so disheartenly small. What IS happening in academia?
