Fairfax County parents, upset about a school district plan to administer a sex survey to high school sophomores and seniors, are asking the county's Board of Supervisors, which is paying for the study, to quash the questionnaire.
"The schools are getting out of control," said Karen Budd, an Oakton mother of two. Her younger child attends a public middle school and her elder child attends a private Catholic high school. "They are assuming parents' responsibilities, and parents are letting them," she said.

Keep parents in the dark so their children's minds can be sexually abused? I think the survey is tainted already.
I have a friend who was called up with a similar "survey", and there was another one on FR a few days ago in NH. This must be a concerted assault.
It's time for people who don't want the world to become the secular humanists' whorehouse to get riled up.

Those are some of the proposed questions on a survey to be given to thousands of Fairfax County students this spring, along with more than 100 other questions on drug use, suicide, weight loss and family relationships.
But some members of the county Board of Supervisors, which is paying for the survey, want to drop the section on sex, saying it could give teenagers ideas. Others want to rephrase those questions so they don't suggest that such behavior is all right. Continue

Yeah, that particular group wouldn't ever exaggerate or be any less that completely forthright in their answers, even if the survey is anonymous...
More seriously, I don't understand the reaction of some posters here. It seems to me that in order to fix a problem, to wit, sexual activity amongst the "yutes", one does have to know something about the extent of said problem.
Those who oppose the idea of a survey, are acting like ostriches - sticking their heads in the sand and hoping it'll go away. Now, there is certainly room for debate about how to go about finding out about the problem...
This PROMOTES the behavior as acceptable!
Err, no, it doesn't necessarily. Would you say the same thing about a smoking survey? A drinking survey? A drug use survey?
I love this idea...very clever.
Don't you see how bringing up the whole topic of pernicious sexual behaviors in school, with absolutely no moral viewpoint, just "neutral" questions, is indoctrination? Don't you see how getting the kids to focus on, think about, consider, meditate on, stuff like oral sex is going to affect their thinking and then acting?
The schools and teachers are natural authorities. If the schools and teachers are focusing in a "neutral" way (of course it isn't really neutral and everyone knows it) on all kinds of sexual behavior that many if not most parents want their children NOT to engage in, this sabotages the parents' raising their kids. (Sorry - weird sentence construction!)
This whole survery trip - which evidently is all over the place right now - is a very transparent effort to mindf**k the kids and turn them into proper little hedonists, consumers, and Democrat voters.
