But in no way, shape, or form does it mean that Boeing is no longer going to be building its aircraft here in America.

-------------------------------

Boeing just laid off 32,000 people. The work is being sent out of the country. Boeing field that the airplanes produced here flew out of for delivery is being rumored to be converted to a site for condominiums. The deal is being negotiated. That's condominiums, no condoms. Read the God damed financial and industry news for Crist sake.

If you'll bother reading the news, what Boeing is doing is moving all aircraft production out of Seattle, not out of America.

The moves to set up production outside of America are for small aircraft components, not for entire aircraft assemblies.

There is no news anywhere that you can point to that says that Boeing has established an entire aircraft assembly facility overseas.

A component manufacturing operation in each client country, yes. An entire aircraft manufacturing operation overseas, no.

Know the difference and stop acting so hysterical.

"just laid off 32,000"

They didn't *just* lay them off, and the jobs did not go overseas. The jobs are gone because of production cuts due to the huge slump since 9-11.
And, Boeing isn't the only company that's made job cuts to get employment levels in line with production levels. Cessna, Raytheon, Bombadier and others have done the same.
Boeing is diverse enough (satellites, flight software, digital video, space exploration etc) that the drop in commercial aircraft production won't kill them (hopefully). They have won some new contracts which look good.
Of course it sucks. Many other industries where seriously hurt over the long term by 9-11 (and of course current economic issues). But for crying out loud, have some freaking faith in this country that we will survive and prosper. Positive action and forward thinking are what's needed, not a bunch of loser talk.
