The US is the most powerful nation in the world and the wealthiestxm. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is it true or not, that the US was the wealthiest nation in the world, and the largest creditor.
I understand that the US is now the largest debtor nation in the world.
What do you think?

I understand that the US is now the largest debtor nation in the world.
Who's the biggest creditor, then?

I don't rightly know. We did mostly whip the debt during the Clinton years. Of course, that is because the GOP congress forced it, but why are they AWOL now? Now we are getting our debt back. It seems Republican legislators like big gov't so long as they get to write the checks.

The US has been the largest debtor for some time now (since the 80s?) but that's been fuelling our growth -- we buy more 'cause we buy on credit, so we are the largest market in the world.
