Two small pieces of good news for this chilly Friday morning.

The next step for Bishop Weigand, should the Holy Spirit really take hold of him, would be to actually instruct his priests to refuse Davis Communion, rather than leaving it to Davis to abstain voluntarily.

It's interesting that the more frail and weak Pope John Paul II appears, the stronger the Holy Spirit guides him.

..."Our concern is that his reputation is as a control person on the far right," one priest said. "What's his agenda?..."

Where, in the Lord's Holy Name do we get these so-called priests.

Listen up, less-than-reverend fathers. His 'agenda' is that he is a Bishop for God's sake (literally)of the Roman Catholic Church - remember it? - teaching Christ's gospel and the doctrine of Holy Mother Church. I'm tempted to suggest that such clerics return to their seminaries for a much-needed refresher, were it not for the fact that those same establishments graduated them with their heads full of such fatuous nonsense.

Some priests told the San Francisco Chronicle they think Bishop Vigneron may have been appointed in Oakland to more strictly enforce Catholic orthodoxy.

"Our concern is that his reputation is as a control person on the far right," one priest said. "What's his agenda?"

To straighten you dolts out.

Bishop Weigand said later that he did not contact the Vatican before deciding to chastise the governor, the newspaper said.

I doubt the Vatican will chastise him for it.
