5) Go to alexa and download the alexa toolbar, which collects the statistics upon which the ranking is based.

toenail, stop looking. You'll never find better than this:

I really need a karmic hug

Does anyone else?
Please tell me that no matter wha-- we still love each other---the way the freepers never can/will.
Oh please sweet Jesus please say we do. I am hurting so bad.
I know I'll be better once I sober up but goddess, I really believed we'd do better than this.

5) Go to alexa and download the alexa toolbar, which collects the statistics upon which the ranking is based.
See alsom from Alexa's help FAQ:
Question:
Can I hide the Alexa Toolbar?
Toolbar Basics
Yes, Alexa Toolbar 6.5 can be hidden. Click on View at the top of your browser window, go to Toolbars, and click on Alexa to hide it. To show the Toolbar again, just go back and click Alexa to open it again. When you hide the Toolbar, all new browser windows will have the Toolbar hidden as well.

If you'll be hiding the Toolbar a lot, you may want to put an Alexa button in your browser chrome near your standard forward, back, and home buttons (if you're using Windows XP, the button will probably already be there). Clicking this Alexa button will hide and show the toolbar. To add this button, right-click near your standard browser buttons and select Customize from the drop down menu. Find Alexa under Available Toolbar Buttons, click on it, then click the Add button. Click OK and you'll see an Alexa button near your standard browser buttons.

Previous versions of the Alexa Toolbar cannot be hidden.

Thank you for the kind comments. Some try to paint us as something we are not. We make mistakes sometimes, and sometimes we are just plain wrong, but I think we do a good job of keeping those to a minimum.

If you read Alexa's FAQ about their service, they point out how their website is not accurately ranked due to the method they use (namely tracking the browsing habits of their users) will unfairly bias the results for their website.

I have a question regarding the charts. The left side begins with 1,000 at the top going down to 20,000, which indicates that the chart is upside-down and that DU or Bartcop actually have more hits. Is this correct or am I reading the chart incorrectly? (I hope it is the latter).

I agree. Also, I tried to post on DU and was banned after only 5 posts. I never used vulgar language, never made a personal attack, never attacked the leftist ideology. All I did was question why they love Castro. This led to an immediate banning. I don't think FR comes minutely close to the censorship seen on the left. There is actual debate on this site, but none on DU.

It's not the number of hits, its the ranking number based on the number of hits. So a lower number means you are getting closer to being the number 1 site on the Internet. FR is ranked number 1251, so only 1250 sites have more hits than FR.

Boy, that last chart really confirms how dead FR is on the weekends. I guess most Freepers freep at work but not at home.

Ouch! Some of the newer FR members might not be aware that Lucianne Goldberg was once a FR regular, known as Trixie.

Regarding your post #47, same here. I wonder if that isn't standard FReeper operating procedure. LOL!

I bet it is.
I've tried in vain to "convert" my mother.

Unfortunately, she was a public school teacher for over 25 years and still works for the school system, so she has been completely and thoroughly indoctrinated.
There's no hope for bringing her over to the right way of thinking, bless her heart.
I still love her, though... :)
