It's like that Susan Sarandon who thinks she is being misrepresented in being anti-american. Miss Sanrandon is an actress. She makes her living and is trained in make believe. So why should we give any credibility to her opinions. For goodness sakes, I never know whether she is giving the greatest performance of her life or not.

And to think that people got huffy about me posting a recent ESPN column from Hunter S. Thompson (which is always linked from Drudge's website). In it Hunter talked about this being the "last super bowl" before the war. Hunter didn't speak out in the essay against the war or wish doom on America (he did feel that it would be a drawn out affair but then we are still in Kosovo, despite Der Slickmeister's pledge of having them out by Christmas).

The big thing to get from that post was that he was totally blindsided on the Tampa Bay Buccaneer's victory (he almost offered 500-1 odds). Walk away from his "predicition" that he totally missed the mark. At least Hunter at times is more intellectually honest (he saw Bubba as being false but did little to confront him on this in his rountable/pre-election interview with the editor, PJ O'Rourke and some other pol-doofus). But in politics I would never expect him to take the conservative position (maybe he could swing to the libertarians as lefty-Tim Leary could; Leary saw the commies in the leftist organizations he took part in the 1950s and believed in keeping his money).

Generally I consider the leftists to be useful idiots trying to sway the undecided. They know not from where they speak but try to sway people (fans) to the party line. The right doesn't have such outspoken celebrities because we believe that we would just be preaching to the converted (telling them something that they already know).
