On the other hand (he wore a Series ring), sometimes even veins are vain. Sort of like a Tom Daschle 'hissy-fit'… eyes bulging… veins popping… fists pounding.

Actually I was pointing to the (mis)use of "vain" for "vein"...that the word 'serious' preceded it just made it that much funnier...
