Strange. I have a relative that was recently given a 90 day supply of 150mg pills. Though I believe it's because the generic drug is so cheap, you have to buy that many at once to cost as much as the average minimum prescription price at most pharmacies.

Any antidepressant is a controlled drug - meaning that the insurance and pharmacy will only fill it at a certain point (usually 28-30 days from the last refill).

Trazodone is not a controlled substance.

Now, if this kid was stealing this much medication, you would have thought that the stepdad would have gotton suspicious as to why his 1 month supply was disappearing so fast each month. I think the parents are a little clueless, more so when they're drugged, apparently.

See my post #27; the pills are so cheap doctors will prescribe gigantic amounts just to save the patient some money (If your pharmacy's going to charge you $10 to fill a script for 1 pill or 300, you might as well go for the 300). So I can see how the kid could conceivably siphon off a large amount of the medication. But yeah, the parents have got to be clueless anyway. Like I posted way up top, the stuff tastes nasty, and you'd have to be a little off to wonder why everything you eat and drink suddenly tastes like those icky pills your doctor gave you.
