That is the funniest and cutest cat picture that I have ever seen!

That is the funniest and cutest cat picture that I have ever seen! Thanks. I always post that one on cat-lover threads and most of them really like it.
I hope you do realize that your cats are planning to EAT you. They are just waiting for a moment of weakness.

"And why they seem so interested in staring at us". I read someplace that if you and your cat are staring at each other, the cat will look away first. This is completely true. Try it. We have three stray cats we took in - they are great and have been with us for many years. The last one we found is a female, Marlene - we found her the day Marlene Dietrich died. She's the best mouser one could find. The two males are not as good as she is. When she gets a mouse, we try to save the mouse also. Upstate New York mice are rather cute. Well, they are.

The last one we found is a female, Marlene - we found her the day Marlene Dietrich died. Now, what are the odds of that happening!

One of the most well researched and written articles on Chinese food I've ever read.

Great article. We finished our study of Ancient Egypt about a month ago but will revisit the study Monday by reading this article. :o) Thanks for posting.

FOFL!!!
Our cat is actually a neighbor's cat. Tiger lives at his own house but naps at ours...on my husbands pillow. :oD

No! No! No! The Egyptians get all the credit for domesticating felines when it isn't true.
How do I know, you ask? Because fossilized skeletons of domesticated cats found on Cyprus are 7000 years old.
I'm betting that eventually it will be established that cats have been domesticated for almost as long as humans have been living in settled communities.
And with the recent discoveries of ancient cities underwater (last seeing air 15,000 years ago) most likely that date will continue to be pushed ever further back in time.
So who first domesticated cats? Probably the same bewildered people who first started eating oysters.

The egyptians believed cats were Gods.
The cats agreed.
Dogs have owners.
Cats have staff.
I love it when someone drones on and on about how cute they are.
I tell 'em if they were half as big as they are, and the cat was twice as big as it is, they wouldn't be the owner, they'd be the lunch!

Thanks for bringing a light moment and a laugh, for such a depressing morning.

Just as long as his owner doesn't call him a traitor...
NiMH cat has his own 'other family' well trained.
But he sleeps here.... and eats here...
Kearen, the one who deigns to let me touch her paw, actually acts like we must worship her bulk. (She's 24 pounds..)
Please pray for us. We are owned by cats.

Something like that. Make the mistake of letting him sleep for five minutes, and he's recharged for the whole night.
Someone commented that he must have "Nickel Metal Hydrides for power.".. hence his name.

My cat seems more interested in standing up to remove my blasphemous eyes when I do that.
Honestly, I'm not of teh mind to try and find out what it's like to try to forcibly remove 24 pounds of cat from my skull.....
Someone told me that cats take being stared at as a threat. Since it's an innately hostile action in nature and implies intent to fight.
Cats are strange critters indeed.

Please pray for us. We are owned by cats. To whom am I supposed to pray? Bastet and Sekhmet?
It doesn't matter. Your cats are waiting for a moment of weakness, then they will EAT you. You are doomed, poor souls.

but their status rose to that of the sacred animals and then on to the most esteemed deities like no other creature before them. They must not have had any garbage dumpsters in Egypt or they wouldn't have esteemed them so much.
