CA Newspaper: 112 of governor's employees not on his payroll

SAN FRANCISCO(AP) - More than 100 employees who work for Gov. Gray Davis draw their salaries from other state agencies, and are not on his payroll, according to a newspaper.

The 112 employees work directly for Davis and account for more than $7.7 million in salaries annually, according to documents obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle.

That's an average of about 70K per employee,, plus benefits, company car, health care, etc.

It kind of makes ya wonder, while the nation and state's economies were getting ready to tank under the loads placed on them by the Era of Clinton and the Socialzits in Sacramento, was anyone looking out for the taxpayers?
