Yes, eating pork was once very dangerous, in fact, possibly fatal. If it were still so it would not be legal to eat today. There are many definitions of proscribed abominations in Leviticus. These are choices on lifes journey which will lead away from the grace of God and set one on the path to Hell. Many, including laying with a man, result in death of the soul which lives in God's grace until truly repentant and reborn.
