THE best essay I have read on Columbia bar none. It's far better than anything any of the nattering nabobs in big media have written. Please read it all the way to the end.

Agree with your summary. This is an excellent read. Co wards do not understand the men and women of courage, like those who serve in the various uniforms of the United States, on land, on the seas, in the air, and in space. Congressman Billybob

You all need to see this; it is one of the more beautiful testaments to the glory that comprises the past and future Space Explorers I've read. Thank you, FC.

You're welcome. I picked this gem out -- truth?
News reporters, in particular, seem to have bones made of margarine and I suspect their blood looks as pink and watery as watermelon juice. They daily tell us how afraid we are. What theyre really telling us is how afraid they are.
That is because most of them are watermelons; green on the outside and red on the inside. People that are damaging our space program severely.

Truly a magnificent post. Thanks.
In a way, it's worthy of a ping to The Freeper Foxhole.

"...Hollywood looks at courage and sees only bravado. Bravado is to real courage as a slick personality is to genuine character." "Courage is not the absence of fear. It is taking action in the face of fear."
Many thanks L2, for the ping. I would have passed by this wonderful essay if you had not alerted me to it. And thanks to you FC, for posting it.
It certainly is worth posting a link to this thread at the FReeper Foxhole. Military men and women have the 'real' courage that this author describes.
I'm pinging a few of my Foxhole FRiends, but please feel free to post a link at the Foxhole so others will read this essay if they haven't already.

Words rarely fail me, but in this case they have.
I do not have the vocabulary to express how thoroughly awesome this essay is. It is simply the best piece of writing about Americans I have read in many years.
