I live in DC, and have spoken -- to great acclaim -- all over the state, notwithstanding all the neo-Confederates, but the state GOP won't have anything to do with me. What advocates of the Confederacy forget is that every single rebel was a Democrat and that the Confederacy was actually run in a very socialist, authoritarian manner -- much like the EU today.
