They won't feel an immediate impact, for several reasons.

A majority of cars are leased. True for me, at this time.

,,, leasing is something that occurs after market. Whether it's leased or owned, that aspect is irrelevant after the car hits US soil and has generated an export receipt isn't it? - even if the lessor is the manufacturer's finance company.

Also, another consideration for a firm like VW who are churning out Beetles for my market from Mexico, is that Mexico's labour force will suffer before Germany's does.

VW makes cars in Mexico. The SUVs by Mercedes and BMW are assembled in the US of A.

Nevertheless, the companies are German. I think you are trying to put too fine of a point on this.

The idea would be to NOT BUY (lease, consume, support, acquire) German products.

As I previously stated, it would be a SACRIFICE for me, to give up German cars, for I have come to expect to drive the world's finest vehicles.

I just came back from a snack run. While there another guy with the same German vehicle as mine, said he was likely to NOT get another German vehicle.

That is two of us. Trust me, the managements of the companies are WORRIED!!

The German government in power would NOT have been elected, if not for votes from the east. The 20 million easterners are brainwashed communists/socialists, they are responsible for record high unemployment (they don't really want to work).

The old West Germany would have elected the Christian Democrats, who would likely have supported Bush and Blair, and left the french-pre-emptive-surrender experts, on their own solo path.
