[history]
One of the suspects in the slaying of a Border Patrol agent stoned to death in Mexico this week had been released from jail Monday after serving 108 days on a drug smuggling charge.
Jose Arturo Arreola Lopez, 17, pleaded guilty to attempted possession of marijuana for sale and was sentenced to time served and three years of unsupervised probation by Judge Stephen M. Desens of Cochise County Superior Court.

Notice that nary a peep has been heard from our illustrious politicos Congressperson Kolbe or Grijalva.

Has anyone seen a report on this on local TV news in AZ. (Channel 3, 5, 10, 12, 15?)

The question I have is why would this agent be associating with a drug smuggler? I have been approached by felons and the families of felons to go party with them on the southside on more than one occasion. Even though there was no indication that I would have any problems, it's just not wise, and the mere association with such people gives the perception that you are dirty.

Had Jose Arturo Arreola Lopez been deported? He was in Mexico when he killed BP Agent Jorge Luis Salomon Martinez. Colorado's Congressman Tom Tancredo has become AZ's official Congressman on immigration now, as Kolbe is a waste of time on border issues.

Rheinheimer said he is not surprised that Lopez was back in the United States so quickly.
"All they have to do is walk back across an open field," he said.
When is Bush going to close the damn field?

Bush has been a big disappointment. There is no reason that our borders have not put under military control and that illegals havn't been thrown out.
I can't defend him anymore when the democrats I work with run him down. I just don't say anything.
The main reason I voted for him was to keep Gore out when I really wanted to vote for Buchanan.
Stories like this should be front page news.

The question I have is why would this agent be associating with a drug smugglerMaybe he was and maybe he wasn't but it should come as no surprise to anyone that the consequences of unregulated immigration can lead to this type of event.
The chances are great that the agent was also a consequence of unregulated immigartion one or two generations removed. In California those successive generations with soon be the majority of citizens in the state. Today they are the majority in the public schools.
To those who suggest we begin to regulate immigration I applaud you but please recognize that the damage has already been done. To undo the consequences of 40 years of unregulated immigration is now going to take more than a militarized boarder.

I have been watching local news for 2 hours and heard nothing on this. This should be a national news story. The funeral of the mexican girl who died after botched surgery is everywhere and this story gets buried.

To undo the consequences of 40 years of unregulated immigration is now going to take more than a militarized boarder. Mass deportation of illegal aliens is the only answer. Fat chance this will happen. In California the so-called leaders actually encourage illegal immigration by granting more and more taxpayer-funded "courtesies" to illegals. We are outnumbered here.

I can't believe how badly the mainstream media treats the Border Patrol. Here they are defending this country and the media turns a bad eye to what they're up against.
Here in Mo., the media treats the police badly, too.
I just wonder how much longer they can hold out.

I guess we'll see what kind of deal Bush offers Mexico to go along with the Iraq situation. This to me will be the deciding factor of Bushs presidency.
I e-mailed my congressman (L. Clay D-Mo.) today asking him to support HR 946, Immigration Reduction bill from Tom Tancredo. Clay's a leftist in the CBC. I hope others are trying to get their Reps. on board to support this.

I know I'm preaching to the choir but F.A.I.R. sent me an alert concerning HR 946 (Tancredo's immigration bill). Here's a link to their web site for contacting congress.
http://capwiz.com/fair/issues/alert/?alertid=1543706&type=CO
With the Democrats, CEOs, Bush, and some Republicans pushing for amnesty, an equal force of concerned citizens lead by guys like Tancredo must organize itself to stop this push for open borders.

This CAN'T BE...Most ALL the LIBERTARIANS who try to indoctrinate the young over here at FR say that there is no VIOLENCE connected to marijuana.

Akin used to be my Rep. until Gephardts re-districting scheme which put us in the 1st District (lots of rats) in 2002.
I was proud back in 2001 when he joined the Immigration Reform Caucus.
