My personal response to the comment " Blood for oil" is "If the US was fighting the war over oil, it would be invading Alberta". Love the post, was a fan of Mad magazine many years ago and I will have the opportunity to use some of these.

Just yesterday I had occasion to use one of these & it worked. A woman working at Goodwill, taking in my used clothing for donation was railing against Bush. "Bush takes from the poor & gives to the rich". I said nothing, then she said "how come no one attacked us until Bush became President?" I told her about the attacks that happened during the clinton years & it was the first she had heard of them. She was stunned.

You've forgotten some! Lately I have been hearing such gems as "We created Saddam Hussein," "The United States is not the world's police and we should just stay out of other countries' business", "If he was so bad, why didn't we remove him before now?"
Although one of them stands out in my mind as a particular favorite. I told some idiot that Hussein was not a big lovable teddy bear, he had gassed children and other civilians. This person said to me, "Oh, and you think America hasn't done that?" I said, "WHAT?? Are you trying to say that the United States has conducted secret chemical experiments on American civilians and American children??" And he said, "Oh, don't tell me you honestly think they don't."
Definitely wins the screwball of the year award!
