Billions of people will be at greater risk from storms, floods and droughts in the years ahead, partly as a result of global warming, an international water agency has warned.
"By 2025, half the world's population will be living in areas that are at risk from storms and other weather extremes," the World Water Council said, citing evidence gathered by U.N. and other experts. The economic cost will be huge, especially for poor countries that are likely to bear the brunt of these events, it said.

More claims of effects of global warming. When the money runs out for this BS research, it will be blamed on global cooling, or some other anti-progress cause.

Yeah, there's been so much global warming in DC, we've gotten like 4 feet of snow already.

We are experiencing the same "effects of global warming" here in Colorado. Has snowed every day for a week now. No matter the calamity, this bunch will blame it on global warming and the "capitalist economy".

I predict that in 3-5 years, we'll be hearing about the next ice age - again. Furthermore, it will again be the SUV's that are at fault. These faddish climate threats seem to come and go about as fast as wide ties and bell bottoms (Navy issue excepted).

It is currently 5 degrees where I am. It snowed yesterday and it is going to snow tomorrow.
For the sake of my frozen toes, all you SUV owners GET UP, GET OUT AND DRIVE!

Global warming actually does more than just warm the globe. As the atmosphere warms, it creates weather storms, both warm and cold. In essence while the world is slowly getting warmer, the weather system reponds to the increase by going completely psycho. Global warming exists. The only thing is that the globe has been warming and cooling for the past 5 billion years, hence the ice ages, mini ice ages ie 1300s, and periods where sea levels rise. Just because we are now aware of it doesnt mean that we can stop it, or that anything we would try ie banning automobiles and industry, would make any difference.

Global warming and global cooling exist, though certainly not at the same time. And, of course, weather patterns change as a result. But that wasn't my point. Perhaps my sarcasm was weak, but the point I was trying to make is that there are certain environmentally inclined leftists that will take any change in weather over a couple of years and try to use it for political advantage.
I guess that I'm saying that I do agree that man's actions are but a tiny drop in the bucket when compared to the overall energy relationship between the earth and the sun. I think that we're on the same page here.

Right, much of the country has had one of the coldest winters on record with record or near record snowfall and we still have to read this garbage...Time for the wackos to go back to the global cooling/new ice age theory.

Actually, the weather is normal now as it has been normal for as long as it has been studied - it is just unpredictable.
