I think [Sheen] became pacifist after ordering the senseless Picketts charge at Gettysburg.

Wrong. He saw the light after butchering Marlon Brando.

;-)

Maybe, but as anti-Bush as NBC is, the humorous part is that they are running the risk of the viewers taking them to the woodshed if they keep it up.

Why not tell the Irish Tourist Board what you think of those ads featuring this boring anti-American windbag?

With many apologies to Happygal, but Ireland - the land of my ancestors too, dammit - is right off the map for my tourism bucks so long as Sheen is the pitchman...

"He added that he decided long ago it was more important to follow his personal convictions than to be on the "winning side."

I guess that's why he decided "long ago" to market himself under an assumed anglo name rather than his more niche-market, at the time, Hispanic name.

I saw the show, and I was fixated on that stupid piece of duct tape Farrel was wearing on his lapel. Did you (or anyone) see/notice that? I wish I could've asked him, "Hey Mike, does that piece of duct tape on your suit mean you actually SUPPORT this war, because you support being prepared for terrorism, or is that some pathetic 'statement' you're making about the 'injustices' our war on terror put us through?"

You're right though, Fred Thomson easily defeated him on an intellectual level. I still can't believe that there are some liberals out there that believe the last UN inspectors WEREN'T kicked out of Iraq in 1998. I mean, that's like basic FACT, yet it's still quoted by some, as if just saying it enough times makes it true. I think you're right; Thomson probably was thinking to himself, "Is this the best opposition all these stupid celebrities have to offer?"

I love your tag-line by the way. hehe

In one of the ads Sheen actually says "Inspections work." Unbelievable stupidity. Clearly they do not or all Iraq's weapons would be gone. I guess I'll just have to continue to not watch West Wing. What a sacrifice! :)

Have you noticed most of these anti-war Hollywood types are usually ones who haven't done much lately (or at all)?

Cynical crap to restart their career.

Was there an interruption in the show where you were watching? Russert actually said "did we lose that, did we get any of that?" when they came back from a couple of minutes of "Facts of Life," which broke into Farrell's drivel about a minute into the showdown between him and Thompson.

I did not, and that's very strange because I didn't even hear Russert say that ("Did we get any of that"). Que wierd!

Sheen just might get that second Pearl Harbor attack if the terrorists get their way.

PS ... How's our boy? Any word lately?

I'll always remember my first memory of Sheen as an actor. In the early 70s, he did a movie of the week where he played a married father/husband who discovers that in reality he is a cakeboy and must leave his wife and kids for his new "friend". Pretty intense stuff for the early 70s...lots of hoopla and Sheen of course won accolades.

After that whenever I saw him I thought of him as a tossed salad sort of guy till Apocalypse Now which kind of gave him a bit of a manly Yeah Though I Walk Thru The Valley of the Shadow of Death killer bump (which I liked btw).

Now 25 years down the road, I realize my first impression was probably the most accurate.

He is truly a lost cause....Sarandon's male doppleganger (at least she did have nice boobs 20 years ago)

Hubby and I watched the show, but I sure didn't notice the duct tape. I was too busy trying to make sense out what he was trying to say.

I must say he came off rather poorly...unpolished, stammering and hesitating. Perhaps he hadn't had enough time to memorize his talking points.

I just about fell off the floor (yes, I meant to say that) when Farrel said

1. Cooperation isn't necessary for inspections to work.
2. Hussein was incarcerated.

At one point, I turned to Hubby to verify my take. "Did he just say that we don't need to use force because inspectiions do work because if they don't work we will use force?" Hubby verified that the idiot had said that, but I don't see it in this article.

Re: I would boycot the show, but I've never seen it anyway. I haven't liked Martin for a long time.

If you are a member of the Nielsen Family, I'd say go for it! However, just not watching the show will not do anything to halt Sir Sheen. Yet if you e-mail NBC and the sponsors, that will do some good.

I, for what it is worth, do watch the "West Wing." I also watch Dan Rather daily at 5:30 CST. Since I got my foam brick, it helps with my anger management and I have saved $9,000 on new TVs.

has been accosted on the street for his public stance against the war on Iraq.

Why do I NOT believe this??????

Because it's a loose definition of accosted. Someone probably dropped an f-bomb while flipping the bird and told him, to go to Iraq. That is being accosted to leftists. The whole "ncomfortable environment" thing.
