The Catholic Church had a history of clergy who were warriors and did wage war to beat back Moorish invaders. Why the change now?

I didn't point you out as anti-Catholic. However, I've noticed many times on this forum the knee jerk reaction to start throwing anti-Catholic slurs around and it's not necessary. I'm Catholic, I'm well aware of the problems the Church has gone through and is going through, but when folks speak ill of my faith or beliefs it should be out of bounds on this forum.
