"Savage, who's accused by gay and women's groups of being "homophobic, racist and sexist," is part of a new lineup for cable's struggling MSNBC, a joint project of NBC and Microsoft."

I saw that Mr. Savage got labeled a bigot in another story. The author didn't even back up his charge.

I've never heard Mr. Savage. Can anyone enlighten me on why these charges are being leveled against him? I assume he's conservative, but racist, sexist and homophobic? How pray tell?

I heard him for the first time last saturday evening. He sounded pretty good to me. If the GayNazis are against him, he can't be all bad.

When he said, "If I have too, I'll mobilize my six million followers..." I said to myself, "Six million and one!"

Think Bob Grant with a New Yawk accent and twice as hyper and you're pretty close to Savage.

I listen occasionally and agree with his viewpoints by and large, but his hard hitting, passionate style is not the one I prefer. I like the comic relief offered by Rush and Drudge better. Even Hannity gets too serious and hard-edged for me at times.

He said the "gay" issue bored him to death. I guess that makes him homophobiaphobic ...

The charges are leveled against him because he is passionate about what he discusses. And the gays don't like opposing viewpoints that aren't meek and tepid responses, easily dismissed. His passion is what I like about him, and it is also scary in that it could be his undoing in a TV broadcast. You have got to listen to him on a repeat basis in order to understand that he is fair and tries to be balanced. He more or less says that what gays do is okay, as long as they aren't shoving it down our throats against our will. If that's homophobic, then a lot of us are too, but that's no reason to be denied the opportunity to speak out.
