United States Intelligence has concluded that Iraq decieved the United Nations by destroying stockpiled Al Samoud missiles with old engines.

United States officials said the regieme of Saddam Hussein has not destroyed any Al Samoud missiles deployed in forward bases in Southern Iraq.

Instead they said Iraq brought out missiles from military warehouses and replaced the engines with those from Soviet-origin SA-2 surface to air missiles, developed in the 1950's.

On Friday the Kuwait daily Al Rai Al Aam quoted senior military sources as saying that Iraq has beefed up forces in the south around the city of Basra.

The newspaper said that the Iraqi soldiers, dressed in civilian clothes, were ordered to prepare for an urban warfare campaign against United States led forces, Middile East Newsline reported.

Interesting that the Iraqi army troops are now burrowing in the civilian population, makes it easier to hide the mass defections..

More smoke and mirrors from Saddam. This has been my theory since the offer to destroy these missiles. For all Blix knows, the missiles being destroyed are defective, inoperational, dissimilar to those found to be in noncompliance, and for all Blix knows, there are scores of these stored away elsewhere.

Could someone buy Blix some tix to Vegas so he could take in a good magic show, to at least get the picture?

This article not only proves the lie about weapons inspections working but also points at something far more insidious and disturbing.

The intelligence gathered in this indicates that the U.N. inspectors as well as Security Council Members are fully aware of the charade being performed in Iraq. While I have no doubt that the administration will NOT take this position. It seems obvious to me that not only do France, Russia, Germany and China intend for this issue to become a permanent handcuffing of Anglo-American power in the world but the United Nations as an organization is actively participating in this attempt. In more clear term these countries are ACTIVELY engaing in activies that undermine the security, stability and sovereignty of the United States.

We should seriously be reevaluating the nature of our relationship with these nations. Were any other nations to be doing this they would be openly declared as enemies of America. Indeed not 10 years ago Russia was in fact considered an enemy of America and was only under Clinton that they suddenly became our “friends and allies” Furthermore thathe U.N. is actively attempting to “tie our hands” in this issue is essentially an attack on the sovereignty of the United States of America.

We need to get out of the U.N. and if we cant bring ourselves to call nations like France our enemies then we should at least stop calling them our friends.
