Court jails Palestinian driver for smuggling arms and explosives in ambulance

An Israeli military court on Monday sentenced a Palestinian driver to four and a half years in prison for smuggling weapons and explosives in his ambulance, an army statement said.

Troops caught Aslan Jibril, from the Balata refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus, with an explosive belt of the type used by suicide bombers and other weapons and ammunition concealed under a gurney in his Red Crescent ambulance, the military said. The incident took place in March 2002.

The army said that Monday's sentencing of Jibril, 33, was the result of a plea bargain in which he confessed to running arms for the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a militant group linked to Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction.

The army and Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service have repeatedly accused Palestinians of abusing ambulances to transport gunmen and arms.

Notice that this supposedly came through the AP, yet how many of us will see any mention of this outright blatant war crime on the news?

Ambulance to smuggle arms? Why not, the palies have been doing it to smuggle mass murdering bombers for years. Of course CBS, ABC,NBC, CNN, et.al. never mention such things - it doesn't further their agenda. Yet notice that every single action by Israeli forces is covered and criticized....

C'mon. There's no media bias, is there? I mean, all the media is doing is reporting the plight of those poor innocent oppressed, occupied Palestinians, right? </sarcasm>

The double standards and hypocrisy of the media never ceases to amaze me.
