I was just about to post this - I'm glad I searched first.

I know Ben Anderson and he knows what he's talking about. He and I have our disagreements, but he is dead on accurate in his testimony here.

When Rep. Tancredo came down here last month, it was Ben Anderson who showed him around.

You really should ping the list with this one.

I'm so glad my main man GWB is right on top of this situation.

......how's that homeland security comin' along.

Once again, it's for this reason alone that this "War on Terrorism" is complete 100% Bullshit. I don't know how GWB can look at himself in the mirror in the morning and not want to puke. How can he make a case against Iraq and / weapons of mass destruction while this complete lack of border protection goes on at home. The two just don't add up. I used to run for the TV remote whenever that A-hole Clinton popped up on the tube, now I'm doing the same with GWB. I hate to be bullshitted. I expected more from GWB and I'm seriously disappointed.

We can't all live on a sprawling ranch with secret service protection, George!!!!!

This new guy is just as dopey as the old guy.

. Ft. Huachuca is a closed military installation.

That's a real shame. When I did my AIT there in 94-95, this was not the case. For those who have never been there, Ft. Huachuca is perhaps the nicest Army facility in the world. There was quite a bit to do there for civilians from the area as well as soldiers. The two things I remember most were the horseback riding trails and the Protestant services I attended at the post chapel. Both were attended by approximately 75% civilians, 25% military.

Agitator Hour Archives
Freeper Agitator has this bio of Col. Anderson listed with a link to streaming audio of his interview with him last year, for those who are interested. (Scroll down to "Oct. 30th")

Agitator Hour Archives

Col. Ben Anderson (bio)

Col. Anderson believes that the out-of-control illegal immigration situation this country is currently experiencing constitutes a threat to our national security and that U.S. Military should be used on our borders to stop it.

In addition to making a convincing case on that issue, he addresses a wide range of geopolitical issues from the middle east to China. Col. Anderson brings a wealth of experience to a very interesting conversation.

To list just a few of his qualifications, Col. Anderson retired in 1993 after almost three-decades of Army service, which included assignments in Europe; Far East, including Vietnam; Central and South America; Caribbean; and North Africa.

Among the retired Infantry Colonel’s military decorations are 2 Silver Stars, 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Legions of Merit, The Defense Superior Service Medal and 3 Meritorious Service Medals. He also wears the Combat Infantry Badge, Aviator Wings, Ranger Tab, Pathfinder Designation, Senior Paratrooper Wings, Scuba Badge and both German and Paraguayan Paratrooper Wings.

Anderson graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1966 (BS, Engineering).  He holds three masters degrees: (German Linguistics), Georgetown University, Wash. D.C.; MA (International Relations), Salve Regina College, Newport, RI; and MA (National Security & Strategic Studies), Naval War College.

He also taught on the faculty at the United States Military Academy, West Point (1974-76).

Thanks for posting. Persuasive, convincing and articulate -- and provided by an honest man with a life-long military background and a history of "can do" experience. Too bad it will be ignored by all our "elected leaders." God bless Tom Tancredo.

This was great testimony by Col. Anderson.

Not only did he identify the problem but he gave concrete solutions which could go a long way toward fixing this mess.

He is right. This problem is way beyond being solved by more money thown at an overwhemed Border Partrol and incompetent bureaucracy. The military should be part of the solution. As he says, we have guarded everybody elses' borders for a half century. It is time to start guarding our own.

I especially liked his idea of using ultra-lites and Indian trackers. Some of this could be volunteer work, and using the Indians could give them needed employment with a real purpose. I'm sure volunteers could be used for other things too.

I hope somebody is listening, but I won't hold my breath. Here in North Carolina the ranks of the illegals swell day by day. It is noticeable. We are a long way from any border.

Note to the Colonel: the current Commander-in-Chief, like the former CiC and the one before him, has no intention whatsoever of listening to an old patriot like you. He has his orders and those orders include the surrender of our national sovereignty, our national history and our national culture; he has support from Hollywood, mainstream media, academia, our Congress and our courts of law. The defense of the Constitution and of our nation are of no matter to him nor to most who work in our nation's capitol. Thanks for your service to your country.

If our elite believes in the nonsense of the borderless world there will be a day when an outside force will take power over what was once the USA. Both major political parties are at the mercy of the racial/ethnic interest group extortionists and there will be the day when DC is just the dibursement office for loot headed offshore.

Just last week Ft. Huachuca reports that nearly 90 illegal aliens were apprehended on the military reservation. Some were apprehended walking in the housing areas of the senior officers. Ft. Huachuca is the U.S. Army’s Intelligence Center. Over 180 have been apprehended on the post from Oct thru December.

Very disturbing, considering the nature of work that occurs there.
