Gurdus told Israel's Channel 2 television that he heard the order being relayed to U.S. fighter-jet pilots and others over U.S. military radio communications he intercepted. I can tell you as one who was there in 90-91, this is a total BS article. This is not how its done. Every serviceman over there from boot up to general is being told only one thing - 'Be ready! You could go at any time.'. No one outside of NCA and Centcom will know more than that until the movement order comes down.

Hey! I heard this too! It came on my neighbor's baby monitor!

Nope, it'll be March 14th, and this is how I can prove it.
On 9-11-2001, I had an appointment with my dentist to have a crown put on a tooth. We know what happened 9-11-2001.
This Friday, 3-14-2003, I will have another crown put on (another tooth!).
Guaranteed, since everyone knows how much bad luck is involved with dentists. It'll be Friday!!

the order was relayed by U.S. Central Command to all American forces in the Persian Gulf. Gurdus told Israel's Channel 2 television that he heard the order being relayed to U.S. fighter-jet pilots and others over U.S. military radio communications he intercepted. I guess they over looked this little comment on the pre flight briefing and decided to make sure everyone was up to speed.

The way he knew they were secret orders, was that they said at the very end, "psst, don't tell anyone, especially the media".

I agree, I'm not military or ex-military but I believe there is a chain-of-command. I don't think our Generals or Admirals are calling up pilots(rankings anywhere between Captain and Luitenent) on the radio and telling them a week in advance our military plans.
I think we have breifing rooms for this and hopefully a more criptick code system then bar-b-que slag.

Wow. And my dentist was on a flight landing at National for some conference when the Pentagon was hit on 9-11, and he saw the impact. You're on to something here with the dentist thing.

March 18th......? OK. I can hear the Iraqi high command telling everone to get a good nights sleep on the 17th because nothing happens until tomorrow.
Any bets on the night of the 17th?

Strategic war plans are not broadcast to pilots, especially not in the clear.True. But pilots do seem to have a great deal of trouble keeping their mouths shut -- it's something about having an ego larger than your brain. I cannot begin to tell you the number of interesting tidbits I've heard on single channel transmissions. So while I don't think it was intentionally passed to pilots in the clear, I can sort of conceive of the possibility that there are some pilots who know something, or are guessing based on inside knowledge, and then merrily blabbing away.

How likely is it that the US Central Command would issue war orders a week in advance over common radio carriers that could easily be intercepted as far away as Israel.
I think this is the case of an Israeli journalist with an overactive imagination.

The rest of the coded message read: "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine".
Yes and, for those of you who are sufficiently mature to understand this, they will be checking their Captain Midnight secret decoder rings for verification.

Gurdus also reported that the Israeli government has initiated a secret counter attack in the event that Iraq strikes Israel.
This secret plan was aquired from a discarded gum wrapper thrown away by a Mossad agent.
The call sign for this strike will be "Torah, Torah, Torah".
