Bovine feces. Strategic war plans are not broadcast to pilots, especially not in the clear.

Strategic war plans are not broadcast to pilots, especially not in the clear. This sounds like something intended for U.N. ears, but you never can tell...

I agree, I'm not military or ex-military but I believe there is a chain-of-command. I don't think our Generals or Admirals are calling up pilots(rankings anywhere between Captain and Luitenent) on the radio and telling them a week in advance our military plans.
I think we have breifing rooms for this and hopefully a more criptick code system then bar-b-que slag.

But pilots do seem to have a great deal of trouble keeping their mouths shut -- it's something about having an ego larger than your brain. I cannot begin to tell you the number of interesting tidbits I've heard on single channel transmissions. So while I don't think it was intentionally passed to pilots in the clear, I can sort of conceive of the possibility that there are some pilots who know something, or are guessing based on inside knowledge, and then merrily blabbing away.
