Really? You don't?

Then why is he threatening to sue when they started taking pictures of the cash?

If the money wasn't his, then what is he so worried about?

Sounds like Don might have a case of the Smuggler's Blues.

Hope the Feds are tapping all of his phones. When Jollywood wakes up, there will be quite a few peeps with their panties twisted over losing their money.

Shortly after I retired, my wife and I flew to the UK for a two week vacation.

The first leg was in the Devon area, and I had made arrangements to fly fish while over there.

We never carry but a couple of hundred American $'s and a hundred pounds or the local currency on an overseas trip. We use our atm and credit cards and get the best rate.

We had less than $500 in cash. We were asked off the plane to talk to a guy. He kept asking us about how much money we had. We took it out and showed him, he refused to believe it. He wanted to look at my briefcase.

I had 3 fly rods (travel size), 3 good reels and two spools with lines for each reel in the the briefcase.

Suddenly it dawned on us why we were being quesioned. I had about $3500 of fly fishing gear in one briefcase. He thought that we were rich. My wife said "You caught us, my husband launders fly fishing equipment!"

The guy got embarrassed and let us back on the plane. On our return trip he was in the customs area watching people. When we started to open our stuff up on the table at customs, he told the custom agent to let us through. However, he wanted to see the two wooden Wheatley show case fly boxes with flies that I had bought in London.

They were in my briefcase with my rods and reels. I showed them to him. He admired them. I asked if the fly fishing gear triggered the first search, and he said yes.

Then I asked how he knew about the two Wheatley show boxes with flies. He said that every guy in Heathrow was jealous and so was he. He just wanted to see them. He shook our hands and apologized for the first encounter.

And don't you dare criticize Silk Stalkings...

As a woman who has been known to watch She-Spies, I can't throw stones.

In my defense, I plead laziness . . . it comes on right after Saturday Night Live.

"...fire Rosotti and arrest him too."

Rossotti's five-year term was up in October. He's long gone from the IRS.

He's still alive? Hollywood people are an embarrasment. Our "entretainment" is the premier cause of anti Americanism in the world.

Miami Vice was stoopid.

Have to admit the show was mindless entertainment but I used to watch it.

Actually, it was the criminals on the show that must have been stupid. Don't you think that the word would have gotten around the streets that the dude in the black Ferrari Daytona Spyder is an undercover vice cop?

I love the ending to that movie.
Yeah. One could argue that the whole movie was just a setup for the punch line at the end.

All the inane comments on this thread you started have me wondering if FReepers believe carrying large sums of cash or negotiable securities is or should be a crime everywere in the civilized world.

Or is this one of those personal decisions, like carrying personal protection (i.e., a weapon), over which no legitimate government should exercise control?

Just curious.

A boy and his Dog is one of my favorite movies.
You know, it's available on DVD. You owe it to yourself to get it.

Hey, Fastlane is a worthy succesor to the old show-especially the episodes directed by McG.

It's Germany. I don't know or care what laws they have over there. It's their country, and apparently they are going to launch a criminal investigation.

I'm just amazed that Don Johnson somehow got his hands on $8 billion.

$8,000,000,000 is alot of money.

Actually the best way to launder money is to just take small amounts to different out of the way casinos and exchange for chips..and back to dollars

I'm gussing Don was on the way to a Swiss bank or somesort of establishement that does not report to authorities, there is no other reason for carrying that much paper around.
