HOW THE SAS WAS GOING TO ASSASSINATE MILOSEVIC

British security agents plotted to assassinate Yugoslavia's President, Slobodan Milosevic, in the early Nineties using an SAS hit squad, the intelligence historian Stephen Dorrill claims. Mr Dorrill says that a secret MI6 file explored three options in which the Serbian leader could be killed during the Bosnian war.

His book quotes claims by a former MI6 officer, who worked in the Balkans in the early Nineties, that an ambitious colleague who was responsible for developing and targeting operations in the Balkans had produced the file. "It was approximately two pages long, and had a yellow card attached to it which signified that it was an accountable document rather than a draft proposal," the unnamed source claims.

"It was entitled 'The need to assassinate President Milosevic of Serbia', and was distributed to senior MI6 officers, including the head of Balkan operations, the controller of East European operations, the security officer responsible for eastern European operations and the service's SAS liaison officer. "The targeting officer justified the assassinating of Milosevic on the grounds that the 'Butcher of Belgrade' was supplying weapons to [Radovan] Karadzic, who was wanted for war crimes, including genocide," says the source. Mr Dorrill claims in his book that United States and French intelligence agencies were considering assassinating Karadzic.

Three scenarios were suggested by MI6. The first was to train a Serbian paramilitary opposition group to carry out the attack. This, the targeting officer argued, had the advantage of deniability but the disadvantage that control of the operation would be difficult and the chance of success low. The second plan was to use the small cell of SAS/SBS personnel which conducts operations exclusively for MI6 and MI5. This team would kill Mr Milosevic with a bomb or sniper's bullet. The targeting officer thought that this would be the most reliable option, but would be impossible to deny if it went wrong.

The third plot was to kill Mr Milosevic in a staged road accident. In the end, no action was taken by MI6.

A criminal gang based in Belgrade was blamed last night for the assassination yesterday of Zoran Djindjic, the Serbian prime minister. Mr Djindjic, a pro-Western leader who helped topple Milosevic and brashly declared war on organised crime, was shot by snipers near government headquarters yesterday afternoon. One bullet hit Mr Djindjic in the abdomen, and the second penetrated his back.

The third plot was to kill Mr Milosevic in a staged road accident.

Media reports in Belgrade said police believed the incident in which a truck almost hit a car carrying Djindjic was an attempt to kill him. A man was detained after the incident. "Since the attempt on the motorway, a thorough investigation was launched throughout the country and abroad that was supposed to lead to the arrests of those involved within days. "Today's assassination cannot be considered outside the context of these recent events."

Wasn't Djindjic pro-West and pro-Reform? Why would England want to kill him? Can you even fathom a motive?

Spies profile TOMLINSON, RICHARD b 1963: The remainder of the document proposed three methods to assassinate Milosevic. The first method was to train and equip a Serbian paramilitary opposition group to assassinate Milosevic in Serbia. Fishwick argued that this method would have the advantage of deniability, but the disadvantage that control of the operation would be low and the chances of success unpredictable. The second method was to use the Increment (a small cell of the SAS and SBS which is especially selected and trained to carry out operations exclusively for MI5/SIS) to infiltrate Serbia and attack Milosevic either with a bomb or sniper ambush. Fishwick argued that this would plan would be the most reliable, but would be undeniable if it went wrong. Fishwick’s third proposal was to kill Milosevic in a staged car crash, possibly during one of his visits to the ICFY (International Conference on the Former Yugoslavia) in Geneva, Switzerland. Fishwick even provided a suggestion about how this could be done, such as by disorientating Milosevic’s chauffeur using a blinding strobe light as the cavalcade passed through one of Geneva’s motorway tunnels. Strikingly reminiscent of course, of the circumstances surrounding the death of Princess Diana in a Paris underpass in 1997.

Djinjic was a clintonoid stooge and a troublemaker, IMHO, who betrayed his people. But since the British took an anti-Serbian position throughout this business, right alongside clinton, I don't know why they would want to kill him.

Spoke to a couple of Serbian refugees here today... they said the Serbian equivalent of , " ding dong the witch is dead".

I think it was the family of some of klintoon's innocent victims killed in the 1999 aggression against Serbia by nato and the un, that done him in.

Either that or a person who just hated his guts because he was a traitor to Serbia and her people.

First, I do not know if the SAS proper killed Zoran Djindjic. It could be that SAS trained cadres now no longer in the UK's employment did it for reasons of their own.

On the other hand, it is funny how the Serb PM was killed just as he started to call for the re-assertion of Serbian authority in Kosovo?? In the end Zoran Djindjic made too many enemies--the last enemy he made was NATO (Or those that NATO trained)?

Kosovo's Serbs Form Union, Angering Albanians The Serb entity would...function as an integral part of Serbia," the declaration said, calling for the return of some Serbian army and police forces to help secure Serb-dominated areas and fight organized crime and "terrorism." Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic was quoted at the weekend as telling Britain's Times newspaper that Belgrade would sponsor a breakaway Serb mini-state if the West prevented its troops from returning to guarantee the minority's rights. But The U.N.'s Kosovo governor, German diplomat Michael Steiner's spokesman Simon Haselock said: "These ideas of partition and division only incite tension." Ramadan Avdiu, political adviser to Rexhepi, said: "This union is an attempt for the division of Kosovo and it is unacceptable."

UN's Steiner invites Belgrade for Kosovo talks The initiative came a week after Steiner rejected an appeal by Belgrade for talks on Kosovo's future status and on full implementation of a U.N. resolution envisaging the return of a limited number of Serb forces to the province.

and finally this action: Steiner orders Serbian administration to move out of municipality in southern Kosovo KOSOVO-UNMIK-SERBS-MUNICIPALITY Steiner orders Serbian administration to move out of municipality in southern Kosovo 14:15 STRPCE , March 12 (Tanjug) - UNMIK chief Michael Steiner ordered employees of the Serbian municipality in Strpce, a town in the south of the province, to move out of the municipal assembly building, so that in those premises can start working a new administraiton, in line with the results of the local elections in Kosovo abd Metohija held in October last year, Strpce mayor Sladjan Ilic confirmed to Tanjug on Wednesday. "Steiner's order arrived on Tuesday and already today 40 administative employees in the old legislature started to move out. They will continue to extend to Strpce citizens all kinds of services concerning the state of Serbia, but in other premises," Ilic said.

The roadside attempt on Zoran Djindjic's life followed by the sniper shooting made me remember the SAS plot details for Slobo's hit squad.

There was news a few years back--I no longer have the links-in which local Serb mercs were trained by the SAS to hunt down the Bosnian Serb leadership and in one story while they were hunting Karadzic got ambused by Karadzic's bodyguards and were shot up pretty bad.

Then there is the PAOK group whose leader a Serb known by the nickname Dominic Yugo from his days with the French Foreign Legion.

This guy was sentences and put in jail just before Milosevic went down in 2000. His group was apparently organised by the west to kill Milosevic.

His name can be found from events like Srebrenica where he was part of the Bosnian Serb Army, then he entered Kosovo as part of the French NATO troops. Ah he was also in Zaire protecting Mobutu in his final days together with a bunch of Serb Mercenaries. The last one is no joke. Go to google and type in Dominic Yugo and there is a whole story about this guy.

Colonel "Dominic Yugo"

According to testimony from local Congolese NGOs, countless journalists, and international humanitarian workers, a commanding officer among Mobutu's mercenaries in the Kisangani area by the name of Colonel "Dominic Yugo" was responsible for numerous abuses and violations of international humanitarian law. Yugo, a Serb, personally executed and tortured Congolese civilians suspected of collaborating with the ADFL. On March 8, 1997, on a road near the Kisangani airport, Yugo shot and killed two Protestant missionaries, with bibles in hand, accusing them of being ADFL spies.(46) A beef importer from Goma was arrested by mercenaries on February 23, 1997 under Yugo's command and later described how he and others in detention were tortured and subject to inhumane treatment by Yugo himself.(47)

According to an aid official, Yugo claimed responsibility for air attacks on Walikale and Bukavu, incidents which resulted in numerous civilian deaths and casualties.(48)

http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9703/19/zaire.mercenary/

Yugo's real name isn't known. Yugo is presumably his nomme de guerre, an apparent reference to the former Yugoslavia. His band of mercenaries may have included Croats and Serbs, who were enemies during the Bosnian civil war.

"They were all Slavs -- Serbs, Croats," Mwanatambwe said. "There were no French. They were almost all Serbs. They obeyed their colonel like dogs obey their master."

France denies claim of secret service plot to kill Milosevic

FRANCE yesterday denied that its secret service had ordered a team of five to assassinate Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic.

Yugoslav information secretary Goran Matic claimed yesterday that a group dubbed Spider was plotting the president’s murder and had been formed under direct orders from the French secret service. He said five men have been arrested.

‘‘We are very surprised by the declarations made in Belgrade by the Yugoslav information secretary claiming that French services planned to make an attempt on Milosevic’s life,’’ said Francois Rivasseau, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. ‘‘Such allegations are devoid of any foundation.’’ The Spider group was allegedly led by Jugoslav Petrusic, 37, a dual citizen of Yugoslavia and France, also known as Dominique.

Matic claimed the group was involved in terrorist acts and espionage for the past ten years in the former Yugoslavia. Matic’s report appeared to be one in a series of propaganda manoeuvres by Yugoslav authorities against the West and pro western Bosnian Serb officials who are at odds with Milosevic.

Matic said Petrusic had claimed during questioning that he had killed around 50 people on behalf of French intelligence. He also accused Petrusic of involvement in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of Moslem men during the Bosnian war. A Serbian television clip broadcast by a French news channel showed the man identified as Petrusic with the name “Dominic Yugo” written under the name Petrusic.

The name Dominique Yugo has appeared in the French press several times in the past in connection with France’s alleged use of mercenary soldiers in Africa. The daily Liberation reported this year that a Dominique Yugo had recruited ethnic Serb mercenaries in an abortive effort to prevent the 1997 rebel overthrow of then Zairean President Mobutu Sese Seko. French newspapers said at the time that the attempt had been bankrolled by French secret services.

The name Dominique Yugo has also been linked in the media to veteran mercenary Bob Denard, who led coups in several African countries over the past 30 years at the head of bands of mostly French mercenaries. Denard wrote recently that he had done most of his early work on behalf of the French secret services, a contention confirmed by retired spy chiefs.

Djindic was no 'pro-western reformer' in any definition of the term FR's would agree with.

Djindic was a extreme Marxist-Leninist type who took $100 million from Clinton-Albright to get into power in Oct 2000.

He recently started turning against his backers.

And we all know what happened to those the Clintonistas believed were going to betray him.<

You mean Arkancide? All elements are here:

Recently, clandestine lab manufacturing Ecstasy was shut down in Belgrade suburb. It was HUGE operation, far greater than Serbia could absorb. It was bound for export. Someone up in the chain of command suffered extreme loss.

Soon afterwards, an assistant of Lord Robertson's political adviser for Eastern Europe was arrested for laundering $200M of drug money. NATO is involved in drugs and someone way up suiffered extreme loss.

Balkans is New Golden Triangle. All ingredients from Old Golden Triangle are here: US Troops, CIA, local paramilitay units, local mafia.

When hundreds of millions od dollars are in play, strange alliances emerge.

As always, when in doubt, follow the money.

For certain it couldn't have been just anyone who did this. Zoran Djindjic was expertly shot. Reports differ an exactly where he was shot - some say he was shot twice in the chest, others that it was the chest and stomach, and yet another that says the stomach and back. In any case, he was centrally shot from a distance - perhaps from a nearby building under construction. Also, despite people (especially his bodyguards) being around him, no one else was even grazed.

I sort of wonder if people on the inside were in on this. Like perhaps, maybe even his own bodyguards, who maybe directed him to stand near a preordained spot so the shooters would have a clear target.

Anyhow, here's some photos. The second one seems to show a significant spot of blood near the rim of the planter - right under marker #4:

A television image shows security officers pushing Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic into a car after he was fatally shot outside Belgrade's main government building, March 12, 2003. Djindjic, who played a key role in ousting Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic (news - web sites ), died after he was shot in the chest by two large caliber sniper bullets fired from a distance, according to a police source. Local B92 radio said he was shot in the back and the stomach. *SERBIA MONTENEGRO OUT, NO ARCHIVE* REUTERS/B92
