After all that's been going on around the world, it makes me wonder if there isn't something going on we don't know about? Just to pose a question... could someone out there be trying to make a move on us? For example France, Germany, Russia or China or any combination of them?
Something seems terribly wrong for this kind of opposition over a piddly dictator like Saddam. Maybe these larger countries are actually the ones sponsoring terrorism and don't want to be found out?
Maybe we need to poke Russia in the eye and get the cold war started again to remind these players what it is they are facing in reality? Just throwing out some questions because there's obviously more to what we know than is being reported.
Why the meeting between USA, Britain and Spain this weekend? Seems like something hot is about to develop.

If the arab countries suddenly back out after the French visit, then I might worry about that. But I think there are less armeggedon-like reasons that explain this.

Best guess; France almost certainly has broken UN trade sanctions with Iraq. They've got lots of deals with Iraq that are in jeopardy.
The 'secret' might be that France wants to lead a coalition (the EU) as a counterweight to the U.S., since the Soviet Union couldn't do it. It is very convenient that he can damage Tony Blair at the same time.
I'll buy the more sinister idea that France has supported terrorism. Chirac was the first to the WTC---good cover eh?
Also large and growing Muslim population in France. Agreed that somethings up.

That's not only a funny line but a good idea. At least during the cold war they kept a handle on their nukes.

"Why the meeting between USA, Britain and Spain this weekend?" The Azores meeting is not a meeting about "a resolution," it is a war council. Probably a council to discuss post-war Iraq.
