TO MY FELLOW CHRISTIANS: THE FLAG IS AN IDOL!

I am curious to find out why some of my fellow Christians still recite the pledge of allegiance. When you "pledge your allegiance" to an inanimate object you are basically worshipping that object. Am I missing something here? Why do some of us choose to salute and break one of the most important commandments? Shouldn't our pledge of allegiance be to God, and not a piece of cloth? The pledge of allegiance to the flag basically states that we will (blindly) support the flag and the actions of our government without question. That is the very essence of what idolatry is all about! Please check out the attached article.

It's possible you're not a troll so I'll help you out here. Keywords can be added by anyone, look at the "add keywords" link under your post.
As for the rest and why this thread became what it did. This site is one of the biggest conservative forums on the net. Not a Christian forum, not a religous forum. There are athiests, Wiccans, Hindus, Muslims etc. on this site. I believe it is largely Christian though. This site has been accosted by people from other forums that sign up and spam the forum with various anti-American diatribes and they get resoundly flamed and then banned. Your posting has all the earmarks of troll. You may want to hang around a month or so before attempting another post just to get a feel for it. If you want to discuss religious ideas then go to the link at the top of the thread page and click on the religious forum. That's a great place for theological discussions and postings. If your not a troll, then welcome to FR.

I'm not a Jehovah's Witness. Now how does that affect this debate? Actually I'm non-denominational, at the same time I'm willing to ask the difficult questions that most choose to ignore. This is one of those questions. True christians would NOT open their mouth to pledge allegiance to anything or anyone other than God.
