I have never had the honor of serving my country in its armed forces. However, my minister friend recently said that the greatest service you could do for your country in these days is to spend time on your knees praying for our land and that revival may come.

While many of us on this thread have different views on different issues and many of us may have butt heads in flame wars from time to time, let us lay aside those things for the sake of our land during this time of desperate need and pray for the protection and guidance that comes from above.

Differences diminish in the face of a common enemy. When accosted with my support of a President who wants war, I typically reply that this man does not want war, but is willing to do what is right. GW is directed, unlike many recent leaders, and sincerely devoted to God. I pray for that clarity of direction, and that prayer goes to the omniscient God, the Ancient of Days, Who has seen many a war, unseated many a despot through many entities. We are one in this resolve.

I pray that every effort is successful in removing the cruel despots from power and influence; every attempt to capture, contain and destroy the weapons, agents and tools of destruction succeeds in keeping them out of the hands of those who would intentionally harm innocents of the world. I pray that Hussein's ploy is fully exposed and that all the world sees that he had harbored much with intent to harm innocents, but that his efforts are foiled by the invading instruments of God's peace and that all harmful agents are secured intact without being deployed for harm to anyone. I pray that our valient fighting forces will heed the small voices that guide them to best methods of maneuvering and effective acts of accomplishing the tasks laid out before them. I pray that God will deliver the enemy into the hands of our soldiers fighting for liberty of all mankind. I pray for miracles pointing directly to God Himself upholding the UN resolution to destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction swiftly. Iraq had their chance to do what is right. It is time for God's instruments of peace to take hold and wrench all power of terror out of the hands of the wicked. I pray for unprecedented protection of our troops, that all return home safely to welcome arms, heralded worldwide as heroes of peace, of liberty and of justice for all.
