Part of the trouble is, I have found, that often two different newspapers will run the exact same article under different titles. I've seen a lot of duplicates lately, and in my experience disjoint titles accounts for relatively few duplicates. (Though one I posted a few days ago about a slow "quake" was repeated today with "earthquake".)
But I've seen at least several cases of the same article from the exact same source reposted within a very few hours.

Headlines aside, comparing the bodies of the articles will confirm if they are duplicates or not.

Try reading the first and last paragraphs of the article. Compare author names, if they're posted...
