Interesting story anymouse. I didn't know about it until after the shuttle disaster and saw a story on TV about the nuclear reactor raid. It also mentioned him perishing in the shuttle crash. He certainly didn't mind laying his life on the line for his country.

I think you mispoke. Ilan left behind a wife and several children. I don't think he made such life decisions frivolously. I don't think our troops in Iraq do so either. It is serious business to go in harms way to protect other's liberty.
