Baghdad rocked by new U.S.-led strikes
BAGHDAD, March 21 (Reuters) - U.S.-led forces struck Baghdad again late on Friday night after an earlier devastating blitz, a Reuters witness said.
Nadim Ladki said that at least six explosions could be heard over the eastern side of the city. A giant plume of white smoke rose into the still night air about two hours after an attack on central Baghdad created huge fireballs and mushroom clouds.
"At least six missiles or bombs slammed into the area," Ladki said, adding that planes could be heard flying low over the Iraqi capital. Ambulances and fire engines could be heard racing through the city.
