Dragunov sniper rifle. I read an interesting article once that tested these with the special 7.62x54R sniper ammo that apparently exists for these things (in Russia, I've never seen any here). It was amazingly more accurate with the special ammo than with garden-variety 7.62x54R that you might buy for a Moisin-Nagant. If you could get the special ammo here, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. They used to be fairly reasonable here, haven't priced one in a couple of years.

The Dragunov SVD fires the Soviet 7.62x54R cartridge.

These have been made in a number of the Warsaw Pact countries. The most common caliber is 7.62x54mmR(Equal to .30-06), Some were made in 7.62x51mm(.308Win).
