Massive Turnout for Fort Wayne, IN Pro-Troops Rally!

Haven't seen it posted, but I was there, so I'll do it. Glenn Beck's Rally For America was held in Auburn today, and the giant hall was overflowing with proud Americans.
Sandy Patti sang chilling renditions of the National Anthem and other patriotic songs, while Beck closed with a great tear-inducing speech.
G.B. needed 15,000 more to show up at this weekend's 3 rallies to hit a total of 100,000 in the last few weeks. He announced 17,000 were present. Local radio station WOWO estimated 20,000! CNN (which Glenn said on stage "blows") estimated 9,000 on Headline news a few minutes ago. Take all their pro-US rally estimates and double them, I've learned.
I don't have a digital camera, or I'd post the photos I took. If anyone can do so, I'd love to see what you shot.
This event was so huge that it had to start 45 minutes late in order to allow the folks in the traffic jam on I-69 to work their way in and get parked. What an inspiring day!

Don't expect much news coverage [except, perhaps, locally]. The press would much sooner cover their own biases.

I just returned from a HUGE "Support Our Troops" rally in Bellevue, Washington. I estimate 2000-2500 people minimum - waving flags, holding banners and American flags. Plus hundreds of cars honking and giving thumbs up driving by!!
It was concentrated around one corner but went all four directions; for a 1/2 block in 2 of those directions and for a almost a whole block in the other two.
High point while I was there was a COKE truck leaving Safeway parking lock with his air horn blaring. After I left I heard that a Peterbuilt with banners waving and airhorns blaring came buy several times.
The rally was promoted by KVI Talk Radio. It whole experience was very uplifting. Just came home and nailed my "Support Our Troops" sign to my fence.

(I know Bellevue isn't as left as Seattle, but it is still great to hear that you got 2500 to turn out to support the troops when they could have gone biking, climbing, skiing, sailing, ballooning, etc. instead.)

Even Fox news doesn't cover the Pro-America Rallies, unless today is different. I haven't been watching.

trying to stomach ole turkey neck woodruff on CNN, flipping through, they said coverage of protest and support rallies comming up, but 15 min. later, just all anti bush protest, I'll let you all know if they give any coverage to the pro rallies, if I can stand the stench long enough.

Thanks for the Pic! What do you think? 9k or 20k? I'm guessing it was well over 10k at least.
But I seriously thank you for the photo. I wasn't ten feet from you (I was the guy with the huge outdoor flag). My photos (1 hour at Walgreens) didn't turn out due to the darkness inside. This assuages my disappointment.

I think there were over 15000, my gosh, the cars had to park on ground covering at least 300 acres, huh, The auction building covers at least 25 acres, the pic covers about 1/20th of the crowd, not to mention others in the rafters, it was a very moving experience.
Yes, I remember the flag well. I took my wife and son, my 18 year old is in his 5th week of boot at Parris Island!

The Auburn, IN Glenn Beck Rally was sponsored by our local AM talk radio station (WOWO 1190). They had ham radio operators there, and the rally was heard on US bases all over the world. There was also a web simulcast at Glennbeck.com.
(We were over on the right side of the stage, from the camera angle in the photo above - right under the WOWO banner. We had seats, but only to put our stuff on. ;-)
Glenn Beck didn't know what a FReeper was, BTW. I explained it to him. My boss' husband introduced us, after he told Glenn at breakfast about how we counter-protest the peaceniks. ;-)
To be in a crowd that huge all cheering like mad was really something.
Burr5 described the most moving parts of the rally very well - and Tommy Didier (local) did "Proud to be an American".
There was one sad thing Beck said that I will always remember, though. He said he had talked to Bush SR, and 41 said that after 9/11, his son could feel that all Americans were praying for him.
Then Beck said that Bush SR spoke to him as a father, with a tear in his eye. "He could feel when America stopped praying for him, too." :(
I hope Dubya feels all our prayers now.

I went to this rally also and it was indeed HUGE for Bellevue. The latest police estimate I heard was 4000-4500. I heard about it on KVI talkradio while out doing errands and immediately went down to join. Great enthusiastic crowd with a lot of young people. 7000 signs were handed out, and many folks brought signs and flags. John Carlson broadcast the KVI coverage from an area on one of the corners. The rally covered nearly four blocks and dwarfed the MUCH smaller peacenik protests further down the street that were getting little to no attention. Lots of cars and trucks honking and hoisted flags in support of our troops. Any one have pics?
