Once again, news reporters and tv press have painted us as war-mongers, baby-killers and confrontationalists. Articles coming out from the Rally have been negative for us. I am as frustrated as everyone else about this and am forming letters to several news outlets.

This is one area where the anti-US idiots have a great advantage. Since they've been pushing any issue that will get them press for years, they've learned very well how to get the job done.

The thing to remember is, journalists are lazy. You have to feed them everything. You must write their articles for them, in the form of "press releases" that are thinly veiled news articles, and then invite them to reprint it verbatim. Give them the facts they need to know. How many people were there. How many people in the country support the cause. Etc. All kinds of factoids they can then re-write for "their" article.

Have a regular "press kit" ready to hand out, complete with pictures, references, everything. And a little smoozing with the reporter will go a long way. Sugar goes a lot farther than vinegar.

Good luck.

That approach DEFINITELY works. We used that at the famous "Clinton visits the Lyin' King" rally some years back and the coverage was quite balanced. We chatted up as many press folks as possible and they were pleasantly surprised that unlike the folks next to us, we didn't smell like boiled cabbage.
