TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Iran believes a missile that landed inside its border last week came from Iraq and not the United States, as first suspected, the country's official IRNA news agency said Sunday.

Interior Minister Abdolvahed Moussavi Lari said examinations indicated that the missile, which landed in the western region of Sardasht, was made by Iraq.

Aimed at Kuwait. Hit Iran. Aim is only off be one country. Not bad for an Iraqi.

May have been intended for Iran. When I first heard this report I told my wife that it would be a good way to draw Iran into the war IF they were so inclined in the first place.

Uhmmm...yeah? I know that. What does that have to do with my comment?

Are you saying they were aiming at Iran?

Gotcha. It is certainly possible.

The fact that it hit oil facilities would seem to strengthen that surmise.

Just an aside... Iran will support us to the extent that it puts the Sheeites in power. They could be making a stink over the rockets, but are not.

Interestingly, they more actively supported Iraq during Gulf War I (housed the entire Iraqi Air Force)

Yeah. Permenently. LOL...

You're right. The Iranians are playing it real cool. I imagine someone had a serious heart-to-heart with them before the commencement of hostilities.

Those Iraqi aircraft that they housed after they flew into Iran: I was under the impression that those were never returned. Then again, I have not given Gulf War I much thought in the past ten years.

Nope. Kept all the hardware last I heard. I do believe they returned the pilots.
