If you're trying to say it's just a 'cold' you should see what some coronaviruses can do to cats. I've watched them suffer and die from it... miserable stuff. Often the cats appear to have pneumonia although the actual name of the disease is Feline Infectious Peritonitis:

We raised Pugs for a time; you do not want corona in your kennel. Very nasty disease. It has wiped out many a kennel.

I've read that it can cause infections in many types of birds and other animals... definitely dogs, cats and ferrets.

Yeah I know. I had two adult ferrets and we decided to get two little babies. As it happened, the babies were infected with the virus but they lived. Apparently the babies built up an immune system to it since it was passed from the mother who was also infected and immune. But the two adults I had were not exposed to it before. If you know anyone who has ferrets and they want to get another one, it would be worth a vet bill to make sure the babies dont have it. I have been told always buy ferrets from the same clutch. I heard it is a pretty common virus among ferrets, dont know about other animals.

My dog has had annual corona/distemper/parvo shots each year for the past ten years ... she's 12. A Pomeranian.

Will that protect her?

Symptom it is !! The disease strikes when you wake up from your "overwhelming thirst". Took me about 36hrs to recover last time !!

I've had "Corona Virus" before. My student ID card in college had a picture of me cleary suffering from a case of "Corona Virus." Just drink a lot of orange juice and you'll clear that "Corona Virus" right up.
