My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes. ...

Don't forget that the French have supplied the Iraqis with parts for Iraqi aircraft, too. It is interesting that none of the planes have been flown, to my understanding. Perhaps the pilots do not have a death wish?

The strong resistance that Iraqi troops showed, Iraqi ABM systems and anti-tank facilities turned out to be an unexpected surprise for Americans. Where is everyone getting the idea that it is a "setback" for the United States that Iraq's military didn't just roll over and play dead? We own most of their real estate, they haven't blown any of our tanks (please correct me if I'm wrong), and they've only shot down two slow moving Apache helicopters that wandered into a hot zone.

Poor, inconsequential Russia. And to think, they'll probably be overrun by the Chinese within a generation. If I were them, I'd start packing.

Formal declarations of war are reserved for major opponents.

There is still a wolf-crying problem sitting here in the living room. It would be a whole lot easier for Russians and others to believe that this is a just war if we were to admit that Kosovo was an illegal dog-wagging episode and hand Slick Clinton, Albright, Wesley Clark and several others over to some sort of an international war-crimes tribunal, preferably in Mongolia or some place where they still cut people's hearts out or skin them for that sort of %%%%.
At some point, this business of covering for the sins of the Clinton regime at every turn is going to begin to cost the Bush administration some sort of a price which it cannot pay.

If we continue to target Islam, then Russia, China and even France will probably follow. The French fear their Muslim population, (nearly 6 million strong) and the Russians and Chinese are constantly at odds with Muslims in their countries.

This is likely to provoke the collapse of the antiterrorist coalition, terrorist activities in the USA and in Great Britain might increase, arms race is likely to speed up, including the weapons of mass destruction race. Ecological catastrophes are likely to happen in the world as well. And asteroid collisions. Don't forget the asteroid collisions.

So??? They didn't surrender. In one week Saddam will be toast, if not already.

The strong resistance that Iraqi troops showed, Iraqi ABM systems and anti-tank facilities turned out to be an unexpected surprise for Americans.
1. RPGs are widespread. Effective against the Marine LAV (depends on armour package), slightly effective against the Bradley, and extremly ineffective against an M1-A1. Add on armour packages, such as Applique and Reactive armour, further negates the effectiveness of an RPG.
RPGs are not surprises. They are expected. Russia has sold these alllll over the world, in every corner possible.
2. As far as anti-tank facilities, the only thing capable of taking out our frontline (M1-A2) tanks are probably mines and aircraft-launched missles. Shoulder fired missiles won't cut it. There isn't a portable production missle in the world that can penetrate the DU/Chobram armour. (Not yet at least) Might chew up treads, but won't hurt the crew.
3. As far as ABM goes, they don't have one. GPS jammers don't work. Their range is too limited. By the time the JDAMS are within their jamming capability (1-2km) they have been guided on an extremely good trajectory. Internal navigation will guide them to the destination targets with extreme accuracy.
The jammers obviously haven't worked against the Tomahawks either. Too many Tomahawks have found their targets. If they didn't, they'd be hitting residences in Baghdad instead of military complexes. If nothing else, the jammers have probably increased the accuracy! (Just kidding.)
An "official" war won't result between the USA and Russia. M.A.D. still prevents that. It's just the typical underhanded attempts at undermining us. It's like a very low level war, except it isn't "cold" anymore.

This article is consistent with what some of my contacts, who have friends and family in Russia, say about the rising tide of anti-American propaganda there. They will also tell you that it's all about the money and oil. They, as you, know that Russia's about to lose a valued customer in Saddam. What they don't yet understand is that he really wasn't that good a customer and certainly not one they should have invested in.
