How sad it must be for Daschle, to look upon Bush and see what an honorable, righteous man he is, and realize that he himself is such a bitter and negative little man. Daschle has defined himself as little more than an obstacle to obstruct Bush. Whatever Bush is for, he must be against it. He does nothing constructive, offers no alternatives, just stands obstinately in the way. Fortunately, Bush is a big enough man to step over him, otherwise we'd be stuck in an eternal deadlock.
How galling it must be for the Democrats, that the man they derisively slander as a "stupid cowboy" has demonstrated that he has far more intelligence and wisdom than the whole wretched lot of them put together. Here is a President who already has created a great legacy, and he never aimed to create a legacy. He has created it simply by following his conscience and putting his trust in the Lord and doing the right thing. He uprooted and destroyed a gang of criminals in Afghanistan and returned that country to its people, allowing them (particularly the women) to live in liberty and self-determination. Now he is uprooting an even more evil gang of criminals in Iraq, after which he will return THAT nation to its people and bring to THEM the gift of freedom. And having planted that seed of freedom in that part of the world, he has set into motion something which may grow and figuratively transform the desert into a garden.
Not bad for a "stupid cowboy". That hero of the Left, one William Jefferson Clinton, can sell his soul to the devil a thousand times and never create a legacy that will be remembered after he has returned to dust. But decades from now, the legacy of George W. Bush will live on, and it is still in the process of being written. The Democrats look inside themselves, see the spiteful, bitter corruption that is there, then look at Bush and cannot help but envy and hate him. And though they try to tear him down, they only dig for themselves a ditch.
