Tim Robbins -- Mr. Peace wants a piece of a reporter's head
Washington Post ^ | 3/25/2003 | Lloyd Grove

Posted on 03/25/2003 6:33:24 AM PST by stayout

As for Robbins, we said hello to him in a crush of partygoers that included his life partner, Susan Sarandon (both of them had displayed their deep commitment to nonviolence by holding up the two-fingered sign of peace at the Academy Awards). Robbins flashed a smile and jovially shook our hand -- Bob Roberts at a campaign stop. But when we mentioned that we'd had the pleasure of talking recently with 79-year-old Lenora Tomalin -- conservative Republican, George W. Bush supporter and wry observer of her daughter Sarandon -- his expression turned cold.

"Wait. You're the one who wrote about Susan's mother?"

Robbins narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips -- the secretly murderous neighbor in "Arlington Road."

"You wanted to be divisive and you caused trouble in my family," he went on -- the unjustly imprisoned banker in "The Shawshank Redemption." He added that it was especially low to have quoted Tomalin's speculation that he and Sarandon had politically "brainwashed" her grandson Jack Henry.

"At least you got Jeb Bush to call her -- that was great," Robbins spat -- the bitterly cynical studio executive in "The Player." He moved within inches and said into our ear: "If you ever write about my family again, I will [bleeping] find you and I will [bleeping] hurt you."

Astonishing to find this sentence in the Washington Post.

He moved within inches and said into our ear: "If you ever write about my family again, I will [bleeping] find you and I will [bleeping] hurt you."

Even more astonishing.

Post readers get a glimpse of a leftist peace thug with his mask off.

So many "peace activists" are not peaceful inside. They are at war with their dark emotions and motivations. Frauds.

My wife used to know Susan Sarandon's brother. Apparently Susan doesn't get along with any of her family anymore.

I belong to the Chelsea Piers gym complex in NYC. So does Robbins. He is known for being a rough hitter on the ice. He knocks everyone around and they are too afraid of his star power to do anything. Then one day this other guy starts slamming the sh*t out of Robbins on the boards...really roughs him up...and he went crying to the management about it. It was in the Post. He's a big bully until someone stands up to him...then he's a big pussy.

God, I would love to line him up and take a run at him on the ice. Game misconduct, anyone?

Does the name Eddie Shore bring anything to mind?

These people just make me sick, and judging from the abysmal ratings the Oscar's received, they make most Americans sick as well.

I read that article about the crazy woman's mom--she seemed like a very sweet and sensible old lady, somebody I'd enjoy having lunch with. A funny part of the story is that she was very indignant at not being allowed a Christmas visit to the WH during the season when security was heavy. Seemed to take it personally.

I think that Mr. Robbins would be useful as a sandbag in an Army machine gun position.
