Pity for this guy that American might is not quite the same as the Spanish Armada when Spain tried to end heresy in England once and for all, and the winds swept it all away.

That's an urban myth. Actually, the Spanish Armada was defeated off the southwestern corner of England while trying to convoy troops for an invasion. Due to its heavy losses it had to flee counterclockwise around the British Isles. True, subsequent storms destroyed most of the remaining fleet, but it had already been defeated.
