Wouldn't this be the largest combat air drop since WWII? Not hardly. The 173rd made a drop in Vietnam (the only large parachute drop of that war.) The 82nd parachuted into Panama.

Nah, 82nd dropped a total of 5500 troops in Panama (including Rangers) and the 173rd dropped a large number in 'Nam. Oh, forgot Grenada....
This little drop isn't the biggest, but it may be the most important.
