Something is weird here. There is no reason to "seize" an airport in Kurdish territory. We're already there. Just land and save the trouble of repacking the parachutes.

They have a Republican guard unit up there. Probably were bombing the heck out of them the last few days. These guys are there to secure the airfield for what is left until they drop the heavy armor in for the push Southward.

I heard that a RG Division was in reserve north of Baghdad to counter us as we near Baghdad.. Now with this force and who knows what else we will airlift into that base...just made the Iraqis job defending Baghdad a lot harder.
